What to expect
This trip is a relaxed Switzerland tour package from Toronto that covers famous cities and beautiful nature. You will visit Zurich, the shores of Lake Geneva, the capital city of Bern, charming Lucerne, and sunny Lugano. You will also enjoy a scenic drive through the Swiss Alps.
If you want a comfortable guided Switzerland tour where hotels are arranged, transport is planned, and you still have free time, this itinerary is a great fit. We have taken this trip ourselves, so we know the pace feels enjoyable, not rushed.
Itinerary
- Day 1 - Arrive in Zurich, Switzerland: Welcome to Switzerland! After arrival and hotel check-in, meet your Tour Director and fellow travelers. Enjoy a warm welcome dinner in the evening.
- Day 2 - Zurich → Neuchâtel → Lake Geneva: Start with a walking tour of Zurich’s Old Town and see key sights like the famous church towers and historic streets. Then continue through Neuchâtel and head to the Lake Geneva region for a relaxing evening.
- Day 3 - Lake Geneva (Chillon Castle): Enjoy a guided visit to Chillon Castle, one of the most famous castles in Switzerland. After the visit, you have free time to explore, shop, or enjoy the lakeside views.
- Day 4 - Lake Geneva → Bern → Lucerne: Travel to Bern for a guided walk through the Old Town and a visit to Bear Park. Enjoy a panoramic viewpoint from the Rose Garden. After lunch, continue to Lucerne.
- Day 5 - Lucerne (City Sights + Dinner): Walk through Lucerne’s Old Town and see the Chapel Bridge and the Lion Monument. Tonight, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Optional excursion available: Mount Pilatus.
- Day 6 - Lucerne → Swiss Alps → Lugano: Enjoy a scenic drive through the Swiss Alps on the way to Lugano. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, enjoying the city’s mix of Swiss and Italian culture.
- Day 7 - Lugano (Free Day + Farewell Dinner): Enjoy a free morning and afternoon in Lugano. Optional excursion available: Bellinzona Castles (UNESCO) and Como, Italy. Farewell dinner is included tonight.
- Day 8 - Lugano (Tour ends after breakfast): Your tour ends after breakfast. The nearest airport is Milan, Italy.
